BM Motorsports sidelined until further notice
As the 2018 season draws near, BM Motorsports primary owner DJ Bybee has made the decision to park the familiar red and white #36 Sprint Car from competition until further notice. The teams driver Jason Martin states, “Unfortunately, DJ has made the decision to take a little break from the race team operation and get some funding sorted out. It’s been a busy winter in the shop on my end just getting everything torn down and rebuilt without spending hardly any money in the process, but it’s come down to the last and most important pieces of the puzzle, the engines. DJ and I just haven’t been able to scrape enough funds together to get our 360 engines done and it’s going to take a bit more time to do so.” The teams intentions were to compete at every event of the Nebraska 360 Sprint series and fill in with other financially feasible 360 and 305 races in between. “It’s unfortunate timing that we have to make this decision so close to race season, but we’re not giving up on the success Jason and I have had together and plan to continue as soon as we can get going again.”
In the meantime, Jason is working diligently on trying to piece together his own Eagle Motorsports chassis that he can put his Myer’s Racing Engines 305 motor in and be able to get to race at some point. “I’ve had this car laying around as a spare for a few years, so I’ll work on getting something pieced together, but on the other hand I’ve been blowing up the phones of anybody I know of to try and find something 360 wise to drive until DJ is ready to go. I was really pleased with our season last year and had and still have big goals of going out and actually dedicating our season to run all the races and win the series points deal around here.” Says Jason,”There is an extreme amount of talent in this area and we’ve been right there in the mix every night. I’m confident we’ll be able to be successful in anything we get in, I just have to work that out!”
