For Immediate Release:
Jason Martin #36 & BM Motorsports – Forward Progress
I-80 Speedway, Greenwood, NE –
Passing cars was the theme of the weekend for BM motorsports and their driver Jason Martin. Friday night, May 5, 2017, at I-80, they started 6th in the heat race and moved forward to 4th which was a solid performance due to the quality of cars and drivers that started in front of them. “We took what we could get and played our cards we were dealt the best we could. Just missing the redraw by one car, the 9th starting spot would be the task at hand for the feature. We don’t have the luxury of running our best performing engine every night, so we decided to put our short track motor in and see how it compared to the engine we had previously ran at this race track just a few short weeks ago” Jason Martin said. The results didn’t see much of a change as Martin wheeled his Schnee Chassis built by EMI forward to the top five with nice restart late in the race to secure the 5th position, proving Briley Racing engines run strong anywhere. “There was quite a bit of moisture on the bottom of the track most of the evening and it finally cleaned off enough late in the feature that we were able to get the top of turns one and two to work to our advantage and made some ground up late in the race”, Martin said. The BM Motorsports team and driver are now sitting third in the Nebraska 360 Sprint series points, with a few weeks break before they compete with that series again on May 20th at the newly configured Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, NE.
The team is anxiously preparing for the next event on the schedule, Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS is the place to be on Thursday evening when the American Sprint Car Series National tour stops in for a mid-week event. This is a track that is usually high speed and slick, which makes for good racing. Jason Martin and the BM Motorsports team plan to head down and see how they can stack up against the some of the best 360 racers in the country, as this is an event that comes just before the NASCAR event at Kansas Speedway, which tends to draw a huge crowd of fans who have become educated on the grass roots racing of sprint cars. Friday night looks to be a night off from racing and they’ll plan to hit the track at Eagle Raceway again on Saturday and put it in victory lane for all their loving and supporting Mom’s as Mother’s Day is on Sunday.
